I gave my name to my place because it was born from my deepest belonging, it blossomed in my first dream as a child. I was seven years old when I announced to my family, working professionals, that I wanted to be a farmer, and that I wanted to do it with my whole body, touching the earth, picking the fruits of my trees with my hands. Despite the amused amazement of my parents, unaccustomed to the countryside for generations, over time that dream grew in confidence. At 26 I met my place, after alternating philosophical studies with numerous trips to organic farms where I could test the tenacity of my desire .
A young vineyard like a newly forged jewel, all gathered around the silver of the olive trees, in the heart of a splendid land: Marche region. From the beginning I chose the vineyard as a companion, because it is a perennial crop with very deep roots and at the same time capable of the craziest rush towards the sky. A crop with which to grow, with which to experience the mystery of the deepest transformation born between the hands of man and nature, the one that leads from the sweetness of a fruit to the completeness of wine.
All our four wines were born together, some by mistake, others by meticulous, stubborn will: two whites based on 100% Verdicchio, a rosé of only Montepulciano and a red of Montepulciano, Sangiovese and Cabernet, to touch the whole fresco of a territory’s potential and its grapes.
In 2016 the dream of the earth was completed with the discovery of love. I met Ileana and every job, from pruning to bottling, became a shared gesture, the flavor of a life together. With her, our two sparkling Verdicchio wines were born, to seal the celebration contained in every promise. It is a promise that continues over time. We learn from the land and from our wines that are different every year. We learn from our vineyard, which we follow with careful and almost exclusively manual care, according to the principles of organic agriculture. We are two foreigners in a virgin land, intact, and we work to ensure that it remains so, in order for the land to be listened to and followed without any imposition or correction. So are our wines, the simplest rebirth of a fruit. We raise their yeasts only with those that come from the vineyard. We follow their growth without adding anything that does not belong to them. We are amazed every year at how different and similar they are, enclosed in one another, from cycle to cycle. Every year a new call of love.
